Anti-Climb Paint Installed at Pulborough MUGA
The Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) in Pulborough’s Recreation Ground at Rectory Close is one of the village's most popular community facilities, providing a safe place for people to enjoy sport. Protecting it from damage is essential if it is to remain a valuable resource for everyone.
The MUGA is a key community asset, used by residents of all ages for football, netball and coming soon, tennis. Unfortunately, incidents involving individuals climbing fences, entering the site without a booking, leaving rubbish behind, and causing damage can affect everyone who books the facility.
Attention – Anti-Climb paint now in use
Now, visitors will noticed a new security measure introduced by Pulborough Parish Council. Anti-climb paint has been applied to sections of the facility to deter break-ins, vandalism and other forms of anti-social behaviour that can lead to costly repairs for precept payers, and disruption for legitimate pay-to-play users.
Anti-climb paint is a harmless, non-drying coating designed specifically to discourage climbing. While it does not cause injury, it remains slippery and readily transfers to clothing, footwear and skin, making it immediately obvious when someone has attempted to scale a treated surface. Warning signs have been installed to alert everyone to its presence.
The Parish Council hopes the measure will help protect the MUGA from further damage, reduce repair costs and ensure the facility remains available in good condition for the many people and teams who use it responsibly.
Residents can easily book and pay for sessions online and enjoy the MUGA safely and respectfully, helping to look after a facility that benefits the whole community.
Report it!
By reporting any suspected unauthorised use, vandalism or damage, local people can play an important role in keeping this popular village asset safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone.
If you see damage or anti-social behaviour at the MUGA, please report it via 101 or online to Police, Pulborough’s Neighbourhood Wardens or Pulborough Parish Council, so that action can be taken promptly.
